Join Jo in the world of commedia dell’arte! We will explore stock characters, mask, and physical comedy. Open to anyone who wants to learn more about Renaissance art or enjoys a good fart joke. Jo Dixon is a dramaturge, director, designer, and theatre tech. She studied theatre production at the University of Winnipeg and now works as the production manager for InterAction School of Performing Arts.

NatureLab.world will give a brief overview of the voluntary carbon market and how it applies to the Culture and Events community. In particular, organisations supporting eco-friendly events, calculating emissions related to sources of emissions relevant to the sector (transport related to organizers and participants, energy consumption, etc.) with examples and benefits to offsetting stakeholders will be discussed.

Ray Landry has been a professional actor for more than 40 years, specializing mainly in the voice side of the business. You have probably heard him many times over the years in commercials, CBC Radio plays, documentaries, film, TV shows, cartoons etc. You can check out his animation and TV/film credits at www.IMDB.com. You will be surprised at how easy it is to tap into your potential when you are open to letting your inner cartoon voice(s) loose. Come ready to play. PLAYWRITING WITH JAMES MCCLURE

James McClure is a writer, journalist, academic and teaches medieval English courses at UNBSJ. His recent theatrical work includes the one-act plays Faking It, Glass Closets and Dani's White Lie. This playwriting workshop will offer tips on revision, dialogue, and character development. It is open to first-time writers as well as experienced playwrights who want to consider alternative approaches to their craft or share their own advice through group discussions.

IMPROV! WITH KATE ELMAN-WILCOTT

Kate is a theatre artist with over 25 years experience training young performers in theatres across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. She spends her days advocating for arts and culture in Saint John and her down time writing scripts and concocting big ideas. Join Kate for an hour of Creative Play through theatre games. This workshop is for all levels and abilities, and is a great way to recharge your imagination.
